As a youngster I learned rough carpentry working for the family business, put myself through college working as a finish carpenter, built parts of and remodeled three family houses. So I've been involved in woodworking for much of my life. While working in the public and private computer industry, I became more and more interested in designing and building furniture and cabinets. For 10 years I worked at both professions, a burden that eventually became overwhelming. And growing older, with grandchildren, and yes, with 9/11 introspection, I decided to pursue my artistic impulses fulltime.
Here in Richmond Bobbie and I are building a new life, one focused on craft and family. Remodeling our house, building the shop I've dreamed of for years and helping clients creativity take form. I couldn't be busier. But working hard doing something I love is a pretty good deal.
